Celebrating 25 Years of Modern Tibetan Studies
In the fall of 1999, the Modern Tibetan Studies Program at Columbia University became the first academic program dedicated to modern Tibet. Our Twenty-Year Report details our ongoing work and vision in serving as a "hub" for Tibetan Studies and its engagement with the wider public. In 2024, we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary with a wide range of films, guest speakers, and workshops. Click on "Events" to learn more -- and stay tuned for a special series to be hosted in-person and online this fall!
