Sherab Chomphel is a doctoral candidate specializing in Tibetan Buddhist scholars of the thirteenth century. His research encompasses biographies, religious histories, and various commentaries from that era in Tibet. Specifically, he concentrates on the intellectual pursuits of Narthang (snar thang) scholars, with particular emphasis on Chomden Rigral (bchom ldan rig pa'i ral gri, 1227-1305). Furthermore, his scholarly work extends to Tibetan Buddhist logic and epistemology, including commentarial traditions on Indian pramāṇa literature by eminent scholars such as Dignāga and Dharmakīrti, as well as their reception and evolution within Tibet. He has undertaken studies with traditional Tibetan scholars in India, receiving comprehensive training in both Sanskrit and Chinese.
