This roundtable will feature ten entrepreneurs from Ladakh and Dharamsala, India, and two from northern Nepal -- all exchange fellows in the Tibetan Rural Green Business Training & Exchange Program hosted by Columbia's Modern Tibetan Studies Program. With varying degrees of experience, the panelists will discuss their work and aspirations in wool and fiber production; organic farming; green architecture; and tourism. The panel will explore the challenges and opportunities of Tibetan entrepreneurs, particularly in South Asia -- issues related to citizenship status, land and business ownership, taxes, online networks, distribution, cultural preservation, the flight of youth from remote areas, and other current trends.
